Switzerland - part 1

A coven of cousins!

B squared get scary.

The competitive spirit was alive and well.

The Kackie boys leave the Ellis boys eating dust.

Oh so green.

Camp fire and damper in the forest, woo!

Bastie is transfixed with firestarting whilst Flynn strikes a pose.

Max was a little unsure of all the big trees to start with.

Bonding.

Still a little worried but safe in the buggy.

Damper!

Bush safety.

Fun in the garden.

The town center decked out for National Day

More funny faces.

Moo!

We were all very excited to head of to Switzerland at the end of July to see the Kackies. We were there for 2 weeks and Blake took the whole time off work which was great. I was a little daunted at imposing a mass Ellis invasion but the Kackies took it in their stride and were fabulous hosts. It was such a treat for me to have someone else cooking every night.

More summer hols.

Turning 5 months means.....solids!

Maxi was a little unsure at first but was up to champion eater status within a few days.

3 days later (at the exact age Daisy got hers) out pops a tooth!

 Indoor play area fun.

Selfies at another play area.

Lovely cuddly boys, ahhhhh.

Recreating E.T on a hot day indoors.

The holiday fun continues.....

Jumeirah Beach Hotel

The views from our rooms, looking one way, then the other. Wow.

I got up the first morning to find an early game of Uno already in progress.

We had a lot of fun at Wild Wadi.

Dinner at Beachcombers.

All zonked out.

To break up the hols we had a two night break at JBH. It's a great hotel and we had a brilliant time.

Some of the summer hols.

We started the hols with breakfast at The Address.

Julia came to visit.

We saw the Imagination Movers. The kids loved it. I had fun too.

All that fun wore the smallest boys out.

Oh my god! Cuter by the day!

We hit the malls to beat the heat. The boys kicked back and made themselves at home in Pottery Barn.

We visited Andy in his new office within the blue Global Village globe. It was weird. And made me feel a bit sick.

Did I mention cute?

We got the start of hols illnesses out the way quick. Daisy tends to Bastie who has a fever.

Brunch with friends.

We visited some doggies who were home alone.

The pool is always a winner in summer.

We were so excited when the summer hols finally arrived. It was time to kick back, chill out and spend a lot of time in our pyjamas. We occasionally managed to get out the house too.

End of term

Medal giving

Zach, Leo and Miles

Sebastian on his last day at Lisa's. We've had a child going to her for six years straight. Sebastian coped fine with leaving, I didn't fare so well.

We were all very relieved when the school year wrapped up at the end of June, everyone was knackered and pick ups were miserable in the hot hot hot. What wasn't so good is that football also finished for the term for Zach. He plays with his friend Miles and loves it, it's probably the highlight of his week. My photos are all a bit crap and blurry, still getting used to my new phone!

School shows

The theme was Down on the Farm. Here's out little chicken!

Max was a bit unsure.

A box of Smarties and Bastie was stoked.

Mrs Singleton, Zach's brilliant teacher.

Daisy, top center.

That's a lot of kids.

Post concert.

Yay for Daisy!

Daisy and Zach both put on excellent school shows this year. Daisy's year group (all 220 of them) serenaded us with some excellent songs and Zach's year group put on some great singing and dancing. Zach's class also did a lovely end of year presentation which we really enjoyed. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to watch but Daisy won 1st place with her hip hop dance routine to Pitbull's Can't Stop the Party in her end of year Repton's Got Talent contest. What a star!

Break a leg (or a foot).

Newly minted.

Zach was pretty pleased with being wheel chaired to the car.

Matching crocs with cast, top work.

Three weeks later and off it comes.

The face of braveness.

We had out first broken bone in early May, courtesy of Zach falling awkwardly leaving school one day. He broke his 5th metatarsal in his foot and had to have a cast although luckily for only 3 weeks. I showed some excellent mothering by making him hobble around on it for two days before taking him to the doctor. Gulp. It didn't slow him down at all although we insisted he only kick a light football while the cast was on.
