More Guernsey stuff

We had a really good time in Guernsey. We stayed at Cafe du Moulin in a fabulous two bedroom apartment with a great restaurant downstairs. It was perfect as a couple of nights we left Daisy asleep in her room and were able to go downstairs for dinner (once with lots of friends), taking the baby monitor with us. Yay! Among other things, we had an afternoon on the beach at Cobo Bay, went to a England vs Sweden bbq at Flob and Julia's, Andy, Chris and Toby got in a round of golf and Annette and I had a lovely afternoon relaxing at a spa place. We also met Andy and Anna B's sweet little boys for the first time. Cute!

We had a fabulous holiday in Guernsey. We are about to take Daisy to the swings now so I'll do a post later but for now here is a picture of Daisy getting her tootsies sandy for the first time at Cobo Bay.

Summer holiday

We are off to Guernsey for a week tonight. It's our first trip away with Daisy so I've spent all day pondering what to take and packing 5 of everything. We are driving to Poole then taking the ferry so I've been telling Daisy all about the big boat and how fun it's all going to be. It had better be fun. We haven't had a holiday for ages so are really looking forward to getting away.

Julia has been staying since yesterday and is going to be here to keep the home fires burning while we are away. She might even find time for a spot of painting in our absence. Result.

Happy Father's Day!

It's Father's Day today and Daisy gave Andy a photo frame with her footprints on it. She was a very good girl when she had her feet painted in order to make it, no tears or anything!

We spent yesterday afternoon having a picnic on Wandsworth Common with a few friends. It was another lovely hot sunny day. Although she still gets quite hot and bothered Daisy seems to be coping with the heat a lot better than she was which is a relief. It makes her very restless at night though, boo.

We are having a very quiet day today. The only planned excursion is to the swings, but we have to be back in time to see Australia v Brazil.

England 2 - 0 Trinidad and Tobago

Daisy's not quite wearing the right kit here but the sentiment's the same and she enjoyed England's win. Probably not as much as Andy though!

Footloose

It's currently all about the feet with Daisy. She constantly has hold of them, bending them this way and that and stuffing them in her mouth. They have even replaced her wooden spoon as her favourite toy. Rather handy as a spoon can be dropped but the feet just keep on coming back. Yay!

It was a scorching start to the week. Monday was in the early thirties and glorious but unfortunately it was a little too much for Daisy so we spent the day hiding out in the lounge trying to keep cool. Yesterday we had lunch in the beer garden at The Open Page with the NCT girls and babies. The babies are all good but there seem to be sore little gums all round. Bring on the teething, oh dear.

We had a fabulous afternoon and evening at Carlene and Dave's yesterday. Hangovers all round this morning, hurrah!

Baby ballerina

It looks like Daisy is practicing her pirouetting here but she was actually having an upside down sneaky peek at the World Cup opener.

We've just returned from our usual Friday trip to Starbucks and the butchers, the bakers but not the candlestick makers on Northcote Road.

It is SO hot. 29 degrees according the the temperature gauge in Daisy's room. Must be time for a Pimms.

Daisy enjoyed her weekend with Grandma Madge and Granddad Bob who were visiting from Rotherham.

We've had a great week so far as it's been so hot and summery. The pictures above are from Wednesday. We spent the afternoon in St George's Park with Julia. Lovely!

Quick quick!

Blogger has been broken for days. I did a big post with photos yesterday but when I went to load it the stupid thing crashed and lost the lot. Arghhh! I'm going to forgo the post and quickly put up some photos before it goes down again.

One wrong move and the monkey gets it!

Daisy has had a small fortune spent on her buying great toys which are brightly coloured and multi textured to interest and stimulate her. What is her favourite? An old wooden spoon. Here she is, eyes wrinkled with tiredness yet still happily clinging to it.

We've had a busy week being ladies who lunch. On Tuesday we went out for lunch with Ruth. Wednesday is Grandma Julia day and we also went out for lunch. Today we spent the afternoon with the NCT girls and babies. Daisy and Rafferty showed off their standing up skills to each other then celebrated by holding hands. Awww.
