I wasn't at all nervous when Zach 'basher' Ellis decided to watch TV right next to Sebastian 'I'm only little' Ellis.

Andy had his first late night with Sebastian last night and this was the scene at 3pm this afternoon. My heart bleeds.

We met friends in the park for an Easter egg hunt onWednesday afternoon. The kids all gorged on chocolate and had a great time. Actually, the other kids saved some of their eggs, Daisy and Zach inhaled them as soon as they found them. Oink. Sebastian slept. I don't think my friends have seen him awake yet.

Sebastian was six weeks old on Wednesday and the miraculous six week transforation started the following day. It's so bizarre how that happens like clockwork. He's been having lots more awake happy time and did really well sleeping in his own room for the first time last night.

A long shot. Repton's theatre is still being built (it's huge) so the show was held in one of the cafeterias. Not a great venue.

Daisy's year group had their spring concert on Tuesday and it was great. All the classes are named after marine animals (Daisy's class are penguins) so it was fittingly themed 'Commotion in the Ocean'.

Andy schelped away from work and Zach and Sebastian came along too. It started with them all singing a song in english then in arabic together. I find it a bit wierd hearing Daisy singing or talking in arabic. She's really enjoying learning it. Each class then did their own little part and they were all wonderful. I was really proud of Daisy, she knew all the words and actions and was up the front having a great time. She's got far more confidence performing than I ever did! Zach really enjoyed it too. When Daisy's class came off he high fived them as they filed past. Sebastian did a great job of sleeping through the whole thing.

Dubai excels at malls and a new one has opened in Mirdif. We went yesterday and it was actually really good. There is a water based kids play area and lots of American shops. Very exciting for the Americans here evidently.

Sebastian is becoming more alert. He's getting bigger by the day and put on 1.1kgs in his first month. He's also cooing and smiling and generally being lovely. I do love newborns.

I'm feeling great today as last night for the first time Sebastian went 3 hours without feeding so I got a decent sleep, hurrah! It must have been to celebrate being 4 weeks old.

Julia left on Sunday, she was a huge help so I'm now learning how to juggle the whole dinner/bath/bed thing on my own. It's not actually as bad as I thought it would be. Sebastian is happy as long as he is feeding although Zach seems to find breastfeeding a bit scandalous and likes to shout 'He's eating mummy, Bastian is eating mummy!' If anyone has any tips on how to breastfeed whilst washing older kids hair, please let me know, it would save a lot of screaming.

I feel like I'm recovering really well. For the first time I've taken things really easy after the birth and feel like it's made a huge difference, mentally and physically. It's probably helped that the delivery was such a good experience, in fact, not once during the delivery or recovery have I had any pain. Even the pre-op injections were done after numbing cream was put on so I didn't feel them.

We've managed a few breakfasts/brunches/lunches/dinners out at the weekends which has been good. The weather is getting hot again so we've been enjoying getting out and about as much as possible.

Sebastian had his first bath the other day. He was a bit cross about having all his clothes taken off but once he was in the warm water he was all relaxed and happy. And yes, that is a bidet we are using as a bath. It's never actually been used as a bidet though, honest.

Sebastian's jaundice has gone now along with his sleepiness so I'm heading in to the the wilderness of sleep deprivation, hurrah! He's doing really well, eating like a trouper and getting bigger. Daisy and Zach are also doing well, Zach has upped the naughtiness a bit but no major meltdown issues yet....
