.....and haven't dropped off the face of the earth! I'm not finding I'm getting much computer time though with the two little ones keeping me busy. And when they are asleep I'm finding I'm too brain dead for much more than reading The Sun online and watching the BBC Food channel. Oh, and eating. Porker.

I'm really enjoying things despite that, Daisy's mental growth and Zack's physical growth are both amazing me every day. Daisy has become a champion jigsaw puzzler and top talker and Zack has started smiling and developed rugby thighs to be proud of. Daisy still adores Zack and smothers him with love every chance she gets and Zack is over his terror of her and she gets his best smiles and he and puckers up nicely for her numerous kisses.



We've been getting out and about enjoying the beautiful weather. Julia needed her visit visa extended so we drove to Oman at the weekend. Zack is still passportless so we drove to the Hatta Fort Hotel which is a few kilometers short of the border and had lunch then Andy and Julia carried on and left Daisy, Zack and I waiting under a grove of date palms. Luckily they came back about an hour later and we headed back to Dubai. The scenery was nice, sand dunes, camels and bedouin tents (which were actually quite shabby) then rocky jagged mountains. Very arabia.



We're off to the Polo Club to meet friends now. Daisy loves watching the horses and can't wait to get a pony. Obviously Andy is thrilled...

England 19 - 26 Wales. Not happy.

It's freezing! I know that may sound silly but it really is. It's not exactly english winter cold (or english summer on a bad day for that matter) but it's not set up for colder weather here so we have all been shivering. We had an outing yesterday to buy some warm clothes for Daisy and we've been keeping Zack well rugged up. The houses have no heating (not normally needed!) so the poor boy has been yelling in protest everytime we undress him. With all the nappy changes and new outfits to replace puked on ones, he has to be undressed a lot. Poor little chap.

Zack is great, his 2 week check showed excellent weight gain. I'm not surprised, the boy eats more than Homer Simpson in a donut factory. Daisy is much improved, she is still quick to cry and wants picked up all the time but she doesn't hate me anymore and is much happier in general. Her adoration of Zack shows no signs of waning and quite strangely, she refers to him as 'my baby' in a french accent making it sound like 'mah bebe'. Her accent is funny, it's mainly english, part home counties, part northern, with the occasional very kiwi accented word thrown in. Such as 'mine' which is one of her favourites. She told me yesterday she is happy he's living with us, a big relief as he's not going back!

Two little ones are certainly keeping us on our toes. Actually, Zack's been an angel but Daisy is needing a LOT of attention. Luckily, she still adores Zack and is wonderful with him but she clearly (and rightfully) blames me for her sudden change in circumstance. It's a good job she has Grandma Julia around to keep her happy and give her plenty of cuddles because she often won't let me near her. I really feel for her poor little munchkin but ooo it's hard work!

Zack is doing really well, plenty of eating and sleeping. I just can't believe how easy he is really, I keep waiting for the newborn nightmare to kick in but so far so good. He's going to have to be pretty bomb proof with his adoring big sister always bouncing up unexpectedly in his face to kiss him. He's amazing laid back and really is one of those old soul babies, quite happy gazing about quietly. He's a big snuggler which is lovely and means I don't even mind the middle of the night feeding sessions. Ahhh.

Daisy rounded off the hat trick of January birthdays in our family by turning TWO today. Hurrah! We celebrated yesterday with presents and cake while Andy was home but she got lots more presents this morning and we are having a party with her friends soon. Lucky girl. She's a bit unsettled and quick to cry at the moment but she's doing really well with such a huge change and is so sweet with Zack. She's always kissing and stroking him and cooing 'sweet'. She also loves cuddling him on her knee and has made attempts to breast feed him. Oops!

Things are going really well. Zack is adorable and snuggly and cuddly and we are finding things much easier the second time round. Much less nerve racking although he still feels tiny. He's a very hungry little chap and spends most of his time eating but he rarely cries as a result and I'm managing to get some sleep. I'm finding the cesarean recovery much easier than after Daisy's natural birth which is a relief. My movement has been a bit more restricted but I've been in considerable less pain which makes everything easier. The hospital experience was really positive and they took very good care of us which got us off to a good start.

Time for Daisy's bath already, two certainly are keeping us busy!

Zachary Ellis

We've decided on Zachary Ellis or Zack for short.

Mother and baby are still doing well. I am so proud of them both.

Bec has been amazing, and seems to be pretty much recovered already. She has done such a good job carrying Daisy and Zack, then delivering two perfect & beautiful little ones safely. I wouldn't want to be pregnant for 18 months of my life that is for sure.

Zack seems to be great, he has been very sleepy today but we know that will change.
